The Supermoon’s appearance this week reminds me how much I like how dark it is here. Don’t get me wrong, it’s not perfect – Owen Sound gives off plenty of ambient light. But drive just 10 minutes in any direction and the light decreases significantly, allowing some beautiful sights both with the moon and without.
When there’s no moon, the number of stars can be overwhelming. The photo below captures the most I’ve ever seen.
You can often see satellites crossing the sky.
You can even see and capture the Northern Lights on occasion.
