For my last post of 2019, I thought I would showcase some of my favourite local images from the past year and share my thoughts about the future of the area. As those of you who have moved here (thanks to Wanda) have discovered, we continue to live in a hidden gem of an area. For as long as I have lived in the Owen Sound area, I have been waiting for our turn to be discovered. And as we enter our 20’s, I feel like big things are coming our way.
Over the past 30+ years, I’ve watched the crowds slowly creeping this way – from Collingwood/Meaford/Thornbury, from the Bruce Peninsula, from Ontario’s West Coast and from the Kitchener/Waterloo/Guelph area. And as people move this way, our local culture continues to flourish.
As you can see in many of the photos, the beauty of our area is now matched by the happenings. Many special businesses and events have been created and have become an integral part of the community. I look forward to being part of the excitement as we continue to grow. I hope you will consider being part of it, too.
As you have noticed, my blog posts have been somewhat sporadic over the past couple of months. My apologies for this. One of my goals for 2020 is to be more consistent in my writing. This, combined with a new website for Wanda means you should start seeing posts from me on a more consistent basis. Wanda and I have been talking about some exciting ideas. I look forward to sharing some of them with you in 2020.
Finally,I would like to personally thank Wanda for inviting me to write her blog posts and for the generous use of her drone. Both have allowed my writing and photography to go to new heights:). I am looking forward to what 2020 will bring.
All the best in the new year. See you next decade.
