Life on the River

When you decide the time has come for you to start the search for your next home, you don't want to drag it out, right? That's when you want to see the option that fits your criteria. Maybe, just maybe, this is it.

There's something about living beside a river that calls to the soul. Things change there, yet naturally and slowly. The seasons are more obvious, the wildlife is part of an intricate dance that uses the river as a backdrop for the performance of life. All things come from water and rivers nourish and stimulate those things as well.

Where to begin?

Lets start there. At the river. There are 1600 feet of river shore on this property, and that shoreline is the perfect place to sit and watch the water go by. Imagine the Saugeen River running past you on its way to the rest of the world, carrying your thoughts and hopes to the universe.

To go along with riverfront, you want property that will fit such a setting, and you've already decided that this place needs to have gardens and vistas that are worthy of the mighty Saugeen. As luck would have it there are glorious gardens and manicured grounds. Add to that the views of the river coming to you from one direction and meandering off in the other, its far shore right there, great expanses of sky, of woods and hills and ridges. It asks to be looked at, to be consumed with thirsty eyes like cool water on a sweltering day.

And what could take you away from this?

What could pull your attention away from such splendour? A home that was built to match its surroundings. One where you would be proud to entertain guests. The house on this property has an open concept kitchen, living room, dining room and family room area that features a wall of windows. Are you a birdwatcher? If you are, here's your heaven. If not ... you soon will be.

And when the company goes home and it's time for bed, the master bedroom has a river view balcony. The heated floor means you can forget your slippers and not be uncomfortable. Your en suite is your personal oasis. And your walk in closet keeps your wardrobe all together and yet neatly out of sight.

And if the company is good enough to keep overnight, there are three more oversized bedrooms on the second floor to put them up in. The private bathroom and the den round out the amenities upstairs.

So what more could you want?

Well, yes, with 13 acres it's true, you might want to keep horses. There are three horse stalls in the large workshop that's part of this place. And a lovely path that leads gradually down to the river.

Additionally, there's an in-ground pool with a pretty and well-kept change house.

And you're surrounded

The beautiful Bruce County is rich with events and activities and the immediate area, in particular, is an explorer's paradise. There are shops and restaurants just minutes away, and others that make for the perfect day tripping destinations along with parks & picnic areas and beaches that rival any the world over.
As well, there are theatres and museums, activities and events going on all the time. You may just want to stay at home, and who could blame you wit ha place like this, but when you do want to get out and explore, there's always something available.

So, ask yourself ...

The real question you might be asking yourself once you're living here is, where do you want to spend your time? By the river? At the pool? Admiring the gardens? Walking the path? Entertaining? Wandering around your property trying to take it all in? Or even planning your next adventure in paradise from your Bruce County home base.

I'd say yes, to all those ideas.
